How does one spot an Activator?
leftit   10/29/2009 4:28:07 AM
I just took my test today and my strengths read - Competition, Achiever, Futuristic, Strategic, Deliberate.

Action plans for 3 of these 5 strengths tell me that I should partner with an Activator.. but how do I know/find out who around me is an Activator? I read the full description for an Activator in the book but it did not really help me figure out how to spot one.

Any suggestions/ideas/information?
spotting an activator

Hey there, I'm an Activator and I'll try to offer some insight...
look for high energy, quick people- people who offer suggestions often.
Activators can't help but light fires in their own lives and certainly in my case (and I would assume I'm not alone with this), others' lives as well. Listen for people who are energized and excited by people talking about their goals and tend to offer support, ideas and suggestions to put them into action. Maybe even think of people who seem to have good ideas, chances are they've offered ideas/suggestions in the past and they'd stand out as innovative. Also, people who seem to start lots of projects or have a lot of things going on.

Some ideas, hope that helps!

I am an Activator. I agree with the reply from Teya. Good assessment.

I am an activator and you can see it in how I react to situations...ALWAYS with an action plan of some sort. Pragmatic problem solving..I always encourage my friends to act on their problems, to make a change, I get frustrated with all talk and no results...
Spotting the Activator

You'll spot an Activator when you see someone that isn't interested in having the same redundant conversations again without some action having been completed. They won't want to hear the same stories again. They'll be too busy talking about what they're DOING. Meetings will generally drive them nutty as they would much rather be doing than talking about it.

Peers will often perceive them to be impatient or even critical.

Who do you see around you that is a "doer" .... busy getting things done?

That may be your Activator.
