I have been struggling finding my strengths for many years ... thank you for this test but now what ... i understand that knowing these these will help narrow down what i should concentrate on but i'm really still at a loss ...
My top 5 are :

Adaptability
Strategic
Empathy
Ideation
Developer

I guess i am looking for any advice from anyone that is even close to the same as me ... or from someone with more knowledge in this than me that can point me in the right direction ... I really won't to find my niche and this is really the first time i have found a pointer ... but it seems to stop short ... there should be one more section that has career examples of those that have your same strengths ... not being critical just wish ... sooo close and yet ... still without a clue of where i should stand ... Any help whould be much appreciated ... willing to read more or search more just don't know where the road leads ...

Guess i'm looking for a pointer that points toward career choices that others with these strengths have succeeded with or just a direction to learn more .... i have noticed that i have been paying more attention to h0w these strengths interact with my day to day ... the adaptability is the most noticeable ...
I hope this helps

These strengths are for use in any job. If you understand your strengths, you can position yourself to succeed in any situation. With understanding of your limitations you will put yourself in areas that will best utilize your strengths. In time, any job you chose you you will feel that it was the right decision because of the increased trust of your employers. Now, not to say it won't be easy, nothing is easy but it will be enjoyable to see the success & to teach what you have learned to others.
Just a thought...

Have you shared your strengths report with a college career counselor? They should be able to offer you some excellent insights into careers where your strenghts would be a real asset. I just finished the Strengths test and have printed it out - 21 pages, ouch - so that I can share it with my counselor.

While we may be able to use our strengths in any career, I fully believe that certain strengths are better suited to certain careers. If you have never taken the Myer-Briggs Personality Type Indicator, which is offered free to students through their college, I highly recommend it. Not only does it talk about your personality type, but it also offers an extensive list of careers that are suited to your personality type.

While this (Strengths Finder) has been useful to find out what my strengths are, I think the Myer-Briggs is much better suited to pointing one in the direction of a suitable career. JMHO

I agree that your strengths could be used in lots of different careers and even if you found someone with the same combination of strengths it wouldn't necessarily mean you would enjoy what they do. Marcus Buckingham who co-wrote the first Strengths finder book then wrote a book called Go Put Your Strengths to Work and in it he devised a method of finding out what it is that you specifically love to do - I highly recommend this approach, as it has really worked for me. Due to understanding how to apply my strengths to my daily work, I am the happiest (and most successful) I have ever been in my career. Over the last week I've been asking colleagues in my team, my peers and those more senior to me for feedback in preparation for an interview and the most commonly used word about me is passionate - and that is because others can see that I love what I do and that is down to using my strengths as much of the time. I hope this helps you on the next stage in understanding your strengths.
